OUR SPECIAL DEP’S BLENDS

View our tasting notes for special barrel selections chosen by Matt and the DEP’s Bourbon Army.  Each one of these selections has been carefully selected by our in-house Bourbon enthusiasts to insure the maximum flavor appeal.  Being Kentuckians, we take our Bourbon seriously.

Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon, $29.98/750 ml.  Remarkably smooth, with caramel, toffee, orange peel, maple syrup and cocoa powder notes, and absolutely no burn on the finish.  It is supple, luxurious on the palate and warming to the soul—just as great Kentucky single barrel bourbon should be.  It’s the perfect antedote for a cold, blustery winter night, though I’d drink it neat or on the rocks only

Knob Creek Single Barrel, $33.98/750ml

Now in stock! Elijah Craig 12 yr. $22.99/ 750ml

Tasted 11/17/2011

Barrel Selected by DEPs Trained Tasting Staff: #4104287  4th Floor Warehouse O ,  This sample was drawn from the barrel on November  11th, 2011 and was sampled on November 17th.  Coming in at 134.1 proof when sampled, this bourbon far and away was the clear winner. Compared to the standard Elijah Craig 12 Yr, which demonstrates caramel, honey and cocoa, this sample was selected because of its interesting fruity characteristics. The best flavor comparison was that to banana cream pie. On the nose, it smells of banana, mandarin orange and sweet spices. On the palate, it exhibits pie crust, almonds, baking spice and vanilla oak. A very mellow, smooth and even at barrel strength, extremely likeable bourbon. Try it neat or accompanied by your favorite pie!

This hand selected single barrel will be  on sale for $22.99 .

Evan Williams is the only single barrel vintage dated bourbon and it has won whiskey of the year five times. This fine barrel is dated 2002. The nose follows the characteristics of a typical Evan Williams single barrel, it explodes with sweet caramel and charred oak. This barrel was chosen especially for the ensuing bursts of spice as it enters your palate followed by honey that wraps your tongue with a slight touch of melon. The finish is long and it will leave you wanting more.
