SHARING SOME CHRISTMAS SNEER: A BIT OF SNARKY COMEDY FROM SAM AND HOSE

It has been a bit crazy the last few days… the holiday season is in full-swing around the stores, and my wife ended up in the hospital after a tumble down the steps, resulting in a broken foot (her second time breaking the same foot in less than 4 months) and 12 stitches in her lip. In other words, just another fun-filled, frenetic little Christmas at the Keith house.

So thankfully, I can rely on some crazy folks to stroll through the front doors at our stores, and LOL pieces courtesy of friends like Samantha Dugan over at Samantha Sans Dosage, who had her blog hijacked by the one-and-only Hosemaster of Wine. For those of you that don’t know the Hose, he is one of the funniest MFers in the biz, and his blog skewered daily the likes of myself and many others who had the tendency to take themselves way-too-seriously. The Hosemaster was like a warm water enema for the unintentional narcissisms that we industry louts get consumed with from time to time, and HMW kept us poodles firmly grounded in reality with his rapier wit. Sadly, HMW (aka Ron Washam) hung up his pork sword earlier this year and he will truly be missed around here – he was read by most of us winos at DEP’s Fine Wine and Spirits.

In time for Christmas, Hose regales us with a guest appearance on his “Internet Wife’s” blog with his very special Christmas list, lampooning the wish lists of sommeliers and besotted oenophiles everywhere.
