Jefferson’s Ocean Cask Strength
Voyage No. 18
The nose is very rich, and not overly woody. Notes of cocoa-nibs, chocolate covered raspberries, and cilantro, all mask the high alcohol proof in the background. The first sip is very intriguing. The first flavor that comes to mind is honey, then cyan, then bits of charred oak, but not overly oaked. Adding a drop or two of water really opens this pour up. Dilution allows the rich aromas to shine through on the palate.
