Hello my name is Chad Depenbrock. I was born November 23, 1988. I grew up in Union, Kentucky with my two parents Greg and Susan. Plus my two sisters Shannon and Brittany. I attended St.Pauls grade school and then St.Henry for high school. I started my first official job at Kroger when I was 14. I was a non-foods stock boy and a damn good one. I worked there until I went off to college at age 18. I attended the University of Kentucky for three years. I am currently finishing up my Communications degree with my Marketing minor at NKU. I work during the day and attend classes at night. If you have lived this lifestyle you know that it is not very much fun and it is hard to find free time. In the spare time that I do find in between work and school I can be found parading around the town usually enjoying the night life that the tri-state area has to offer. Some of my favorite places to go are Boogie Nights at the Hollywood Casino, The LBYC, and Newport on the Levee. My life is not always a party even though sometimes it can become a blur. I enjoy staying fit. I have always enjoyed doing anything competitive, my favorite being playing basketball. I also recently have become a rather dedicated runner.
The company is owned by my father so I started in the business a long time ago. I started off just going to work with my dad and it has never really ended, he keeps making me come back every day, and makes me do more and more stuff. I started working at our Tobacco store in Covington when I was 16. I enjoyed the atmosphere there because there is less pressure and it is truly a scene every day. I then graduated to working in the Wine store in Covington. I started there simply running the register and progressed from there. I started working/studying the business very hard. I knew I could not contribute unless I developed my knowledge capitol.
Soon I was able to help with the wine with the steady tutoring of my sister Shannon. She continuously dumped knowledge in my head all day. I slowly fell in love with vino and was promoted to wine staff. I worked in the Covington store for about a year and then was promoted to store manager out at the Ft.Thomas location. This was a big step for me as a young professional; I was now in charge of the demands of running an entire liquor store and leading people that were much older than I. I worked extremely hard at doing that all the while learning about craft beer from our previous beer buyer Corey Scherder. He exposed me a lot to many different beers and I became a beer geek almost instantly. This brings me to what I am doing for our company today. I am currently the craft beer buyer and love every minute of it. I do not think there is a better job in the world. I also have been working recently as our liquor buyer Matt Corley’s assistant. I do things like set up our tastings, handle the pre-sold items, and try and find great/unique products for our customers.
Now to the good stuff, I am currently single and think you should come and talk to me, yeah you ladies. Oh, my favorite band is Nirvana and some say I have a slight obsession with Kurt Cobain. That is all. Cheers!
